چکیده

The severe “shuttle effect” of dissolved polysulfide intermediates and the poor electronic conductivity sulfur cathodes cause capacity decay lithium–sulfur batteries impede their commercialization. Herein, we synthesized a series well-designed yolk-shelled Fe3O4@carbon (YS-Fe3O4@C) nanocavities with different proportions Fe3O4 as efficient hosts to stabilize intermediates. nanocavity architectures were prepared through facile method, which could effectively confine active materials achieve high conductivity. intermediate shuttle was successfully suppressed by physiochemical synergism effect combining retention carbon shells adsorption nanoparticle cores. highly conductive shell provides pathways for fast electron transportation. Meanwhile, visible evolution reversible electrochemical reaction are revealed in situ X-ray diffraction. With balanced merits enhanced electrical optimal cores, S/YS-27Fe3O4@C cathode (Fe3O4 accounts 27 wt% YS-Fe3O4@C) had best performance, exhibiting specific 731.9 mAh g−1 long cycle performance at 1 C (capacity fading rate 0.03% over 200 cycles).

Dual yolk-shell structure of carbon and silica-coated silicon for high-performance lithium-ion batteries

Silicon batteries have attracted much attention in recent years due to their high theoretical capacity, although a rapid capacity fade is normally observed, attributed mainly to volume expansion during lithiation. Here, we report for the first time successful synthesis of Si/void/SiO2/void/C nanostructures. The synthesis strategy only involves selective etching of SiO2 in Si/SiO2/C structures w...

Facile synthesis of nanostructured vanadium oxide as cathode materials for efficient Li-ion batteries

Homogeneous VO2 (B) nanorods approximately 100 nm in width and 1–2 mm in length have been fabricated via the hydrothermal process, and are then transformed into irregularly shaped V2O5 nanoparticles of several hundreds nanometers large and 20–30 nm thick after annealing the precursor material at 500 C for 30 min. Both the V2O5 sheet-like nanoparticles and VO2 (B) nanorods were tested as active ...
